The living room is a place where most of us relax

The living room is a place where most of us relax as we are entertained by our TVs, and where we entertain others, so it's an area where we like our surroundings to be both comfortable and stylish.

In this very white décor scheme, contained within the border of a long L-shaped sofa, the two areas that really jump out are the pink occasional stools, and the blue accent chairs. This little color blast feature is a good way to liven up any overly neutral scheme you have–you can even use items you already have in other parts of the home, from rooms that are decorated in a completely different color to the one you are accessorizing!

A great way to tie a loud piece of furniture into an otherwise quiet scheme is to add matching colorful scatter cushions to paler pieces.

These two large footstools have been pushed together to form an extra lounging spot, and a sofa table placed across them forms an excellent bridging table on which to hold a laptop or magazine. The best part about this kind of arrangement is that is can be broken up to once again serve its purpose by the sofa, as two individual footrests and a handy side table–thus freeing up the space for other uses.
